Crawford is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1851 (1855) from the following county/ies: Pottawattomie Unorganized (Dallas/ Mahaska/ Monroe/ Polk)/ *Shelby. Crawford began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1853, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1855, probate records in 1867, and court records in 1868.
