Hancock is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1851 (1858) from the following county/ies: unorganized (Delaware/ Polk)/ *Boone/ *Webster. Hancock began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1873, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1857, probate records in 1876, and court records in 1858.
