Des Moines is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1834 (Michigan Territory) from the following county/ies: unorganized. Des Moines began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1835, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1847, probate records in 1853, and court records in 1857.
