Washington is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1838 from the following county/ies: Henry/Louisa/Muscatine/unorganized. Washington began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1839, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1839, probate records in 1838, and court records in 1868.
