Fayette is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1837 (1850) from the following county/ies: Dubuque/ *Clayton. Fayette began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1876, and death records in ca 1860. It began keeping land records in 1851, probate records in 1859, and court records in 1859.
