Clinton is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1837 (1841) from the following county/ies: Dubuque/ *Scott. Clinton began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1840, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1840, probate records in 1851, and court records in 1859.
