Benton is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1837 (1846) from the following county/ies: Dubuque/ *Jackson/ *Linn. Benton began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1852, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1847, probate records in 1856, and court records in 1860.
