Pocahontas is a county in Iowa. It was formed in 1851 (1859) from the following county/ies: unorganized (Delaware/Polk)/*Boone/*Webster. Pocahontas began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1859, and death records in 1880. It began keeping land records in 1861, probate records in 1867, and court records in 1867.
