Cherokee is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1897 from the following county/ies or district/s: Union/York/Spartanburg. Cherokee began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915. It began keeping land records in 1897, probate records in 1897, and court records in 1897.
