Chester is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies or district/s: Chester County in Pinckney District||1785 (in Camden District). Chester began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915. It began keeping land records in 1785, probate records in 1787, and court records in 1785.
