Barnwell is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies or district/s: Winton County in Orangeburgh District. It has functioned since 1785 (Winton County). Barnwell began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915. It began keeping land records in 1800, probate records in 1800, and court records in 1800. For more information, contact the county at 57 Wall St., Barnwell 29812-1584.
