Laurens is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies or district/s: Laurens County in Ninety-Six District. It has functioned since 1785. Laurens began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915. It began keeping land records in 1774, probate records in 1766, and court records in 1789.
