Sanilac is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1822 (1848) from the following county/ies: St. Clair/unorganized *Lapeer/*Oakland. Sanilac began keeping birth records in 1867, marriage records in 1867, and death records in 1867. It began keeping land records in 1834, probate records in 1857, and court records in 1850.
