Marquette is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1843 (1848) from the following county/ies: Chippewa/Houghton *Houghton. Marquette began keeping birth records in 1867, marriage records in 1850, and death records in 1867. It began keeping land records in 1851, probate records in 1854, and court records in 1852.
