Emmet is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1840 (1853) (as Tonedagana; renamed 1843) from the following county/ies: Mackinac/unorganized land. Emmet began keeping birth records in 1867, marriage records in 1867, and death records in 1867. It began keeping land records in 1853, probate records in 1867, and court records in 1867.
