Perquimans is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in about 1668 (as Berkeley precinct; renamed about 1681;declared a county, 1739) from the following county/ies: precinct of Albemarle. Perquimans began keeping birth records in 1659, marriage records in 1659, and death records in 1913. It began keeping land records in 1681, probate records in 1709, and court records in 1688.
