Rutherford is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1779 from the following county/ies: Tryon. Rutherford began keeping birth records in 1913, marriage records in 1774, and death records in 1913. It began keeping land records in 1768, probate records in 1782, and court records in 1779.
