Carteret is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1722 from the following county/ies: Craven Precinct, Bath County. Carteret began keeping birth records in 1912, marriage records in 1746, and death records in 1912. It began keeping land records in 1721, probate records in 1744, and court records in 1723.
