Hyde is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1705 (as Wickham Precinct; renamed 1712; declared a county, 1739) from the following county/ies: precinct of Bath. Hyde began keeping birth records in 1877, marriage records in 1742, and death records in 1877. It began keeping land records in 1736, probate records in 1745, and court records in 1713.
