Franklin is a county in Maine. It was formed in 1838 from the following county/ies: Cumberland/Kennebec/ Oxford/Somerset. Franklin began keeping marriage records in 1848'91 now held by the county clerk. It began keeping land records in 1838, and probate records in 1838.
