Penobscot is a county in Maine. It was formed in 1816 from the following county/ies: Hancock. Penobscot began keeping marriage records in 1827-88 now located at the Maine State Archives Archives. It began keeping land records in 1814, and probate records in 1816. For more information, contact the county at 97 Hammond St. Bangor 04401-4996. On the attached map, Penobscot is located at G8.
