York is a county in Maine. It was formed in 1652 from the following county/ies: original. York began keeping marriage records in 1771'94; 1833'87 now held by the county clerk. It began keeping land records in 1642, and probate records in 1689. For more information, contact the county at 1 Court St. Alfred 04002. On the attached map, York is located at A15.
