Eligibility for membership is based on descent from an illegitimate son or daughter of a King; an illegitimate son or daughter of a child of a King; or an illegitimate child of a grandchild of a King of England, Scotland, and/or Wales.

It should be noted that only Cockayne's Complete Peerage will be accepted by the genealogist as a secondary source. All generations submitted, which are not listed in Cockayne's Complete Peerage, require full, primary documentation, including generations in the Old World.
