Project Instructions
This database contains allegations for marriage licences in Hampshire, England from the registry of the bishop of Winchester from 1689 to 1837. Fields (when no parents are present) are most often in the following format: [self-residence-occupation-age-spouse-residence-spouse age-allegation parish-allegation date]
If allegation place is the same as the residence of either the bride or the groom, it will usually be represented by a single letter. Ex: If the groom was from Romsey and the spouse from Andover, "at A" should be keyed the same as the bride's residence, "Andover".
