Sussex is a county in Delaware. It was formed in 1670 (as Whorekill; renamed Deale, 1680; renamed Sussex, 1682) from the following county: New Castle. Sussex began recording deeds in 1693 , and Orphans Court Register of wills in 1683/1728 P.O. Box 111 Georgetown 19947-0111. For more information, contact the county at Courthouse on Cir. Rm 213/P.O.
