Watauga is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1849 from the following county/ies: Ashe/Caldwell/Wilkes/Yancey. Watauga began keeping birth records in 1914, marriage records in 1873, and death records in 1914. It began keeping land records in 1830, probate records in 1858, and court records in 1873.
