Washington is a county in Maryland. It was formed in 1776 from the following county/ies: Frederick. The first land deed in Washington was recorded in 1777. Orphan Court records begin in 1777. For more information, contact the circuit county clerk at 95 W. Washington St., Hagerstown 21740. On the attached map, Washington is located at D2. Some records were lost in a courthouse fire in 1871.
