The United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada is dedicated to preserving the history of those who fought for the Crown during the American Revolution. Only the veterans themselves can use the designation UEL after their signature. Proven descendants can use the designation UE after their signature. Loyalist groups settled primarily in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Upper Canada.

The association is collecting and printing on-line a list of Loyalists in their Loyalist Directory. The directory page describes what is was a Loyalist and includes an alphabetical listing of names, to which more names are added as information is provided. An expanded Directory of Loyalists, with Details, is also available from the main directory page.

The Resources tab of the web site offers additional information. Included from this tab is a Migration by Ship page with a listing of ships used to evacuate Loyalists at the end of the war.

For an in depth and fascinating repository of Loyalist information, Todd Braisted's Online Institute for Loyalist Studies is amazing.
