Texas is a county in Missouri. It was formed in 1845 from the following county/ies: Shannon/Wright. Texas began keeping birth records in 1883'87, marriage records in 1855, and death records in 1883'90. It began keeping land records in 1843, probate records in 1870, and court records in 1858. For more information, contact the county at 210 N. Grand Ave. Houston 65483. On the attached map, Texas is located at G5. Courthouse burned or damaged ~1850, destroyed during Civil War, burned 1881 and 1930. State census of 1876.
