Sumter is a county in Alabama. It was formed in 1832 from the following county/ies: Choctaw Cession. Sumter began keeping birth records in 1888, marriage records in 1833, and death records in 1881. It began keeping land records in 1825, probate records in 1828, and court records in 1876. For more information, contact the county at Marshall Street Livingston 35470.
