Ontonagon is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1843 (1848) from the following county/ies: Chippewa/Mackinac *Houghton. Ontonagon began keeping birth records in 1868, marriage records in 1853, and death records in 1868. It began keeping land records in 1850, probate records in 1853, and court records in 1854.
