Oakland is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1820 from the following county/ies: Macomb. Oakland began keeping birth records in 1867, marriage records in 1827, and death records in 1867. It began keeping land records in 1821, probate records in 1822, and court records in 1826. For more information, contact the county at 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac 48341-1032.
