Mercer is a county in West Virginia. It was formed in 1837 from the following county/ies: Giles, Va./Tazewell, Va. Mercer began keeping birth records in 1853, marriage records in 1853, and death records in 1853. It began keeping land records in 1837, probate records in 1837, and court records in 1837.
