McDowell is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1842 from the following county/ies: Burke/Rutherford. McDowell began keeping birth records in 1914, marriage records in 1842, and death records in 1914. It began keeping land records in 1813, probate records in 1841, and court records in 1822.
