Kay Haviland Freilich

Kay Haviland Freilich, CG, CGL, is a trustee and immediate past president of Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG), researcher, author, lecturer, and volunteer who specializes in colonial Pennsylvania and Quaker research.

She is the author of the National Genealogical Society (NGS) publication Research in Pennsylvania and co-author of three published family histories. Her articles have appeared in NGS Quarterly, NGS NewsMagazine, the Federation of Genealogical Societies' (FGS) FORUM, Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine, and OnBoard, the BCG newsletter. She also co-wrote the "Business, Institution, and Organizational Records" chapter of The Source: A Guidebook to American Genealogy with Ann Carter Fleming.

Kay serves as verifying genealogist for lineage societies and is a former FGS director and secretary. A frequent speaker at local and national conferences, she was program chair for NGS 1997 in Valley Forge and assistant program chair for FGS 2001 in Davenport, Iowa. For the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, she is a counselor at the 'Summer Camp for Genealogists' programs and has served on the publications and program committees.
