Jefferson is a county in Alabama. It was formed in 1819 from the following county/ies: Blount. Jefferson began keeping birth records in 1881, marriage records in 1823*, and death records in 1881. It began keeping land records in 1819, probate records in 1819, and court records in ?. For more information, contact the county at 716 N. 21st St., Birmingham 35203 and 1801 Third Ave. N., Bessemer 35020.
