Houghton is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1845 from the following county/ies: Marquette/ Ontonagon/ Schoolcraft. Houghton began keeping birth records in 1867, marriage records in 1855, and death records in 1867. It began keeping land records in 1848, probate records in 1872, and court records in 1848.
