Fairfield is a county or district in South Carolina. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies or district/s: Fairfield County in Camden District. It has functioned since 1785. Fairfield began keeping birth records in 1915, marriage records in 1911, and death records in 1915. It began keeping land records in 1784, probate records in 1787, and court records in 1785.
