Crawford is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1840 (1879)(as Shawono; renamed 1843) from the following county/ies: Mackinac *Cheboygan/ *Iosco/ *Antrim/ *Kalkasa. Crawford began keeping birth records in 1873, marriage records in 1873, and death records in 1873. It began keeping land records in 1863, probate records in 1881, and court records in 1881.
