Many of the holdings of the state archives have been described in various sections above. All out-of-state requests are charged a search fee of $25 per name, payable in advance. This fee is then applied to the copies of information up to three pages. Additional pages are $1.25 per page. There is an additional fee of $10 if certified copies are needed.

There is an admission fee to the state museum but no fee to use the library, which has extensive holdings as described above. No material is circulated.

Their Government Publications Department is a federal regional depository as well as a Colorado state publications depository. It holds nearly complete microfilmed census population schedules and Soundexes, in addition to many other publications of interest to Colorado and other researchers. The Archives Department has many printed and manuscript materials relating to Colorado and Western history.

The council will provide an electronic copy of all genealogical societies in the state on its website if requested by e-mail, or a hard copy of the list by regular mail when a self-addressed stamped envelope is included with the request.
