Cherokee is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1839 from the following county/ies: Macon. Cherokee began keeping birth records in 1913, marriage records in 1837, and death records in 1913. It began keeping land records in 1838, probate records in 1848, and court records in 1846. For more information, contact the county at 75 Peachtree St., Murphy 28906-2947.
