Bates is a county in Missouri. It was formed in 1841 from the following county/ies: Van Buren (now Cass). Bates began keeping birth records in 1883'1907, marriage records in 1860, and death records in 1883'93. It began keeping land records in 1839, probate records in 1845, and court records in 1858.
