Arlene H. Eakle

Arlene Eakle, Ph.D., is president and founder of The Genealogical Institute, Inc. Arlene is a professional genealogist with more than thirty years experience in research as a consultant, a seminar presenter, and author. She is an expert in tracing Southern ancestors including those of Native American background. She is also skilled in tracing ancestors from the British Isles, Switzerland, and parts of Germany. She has addressed more than five hundred workshops and seminars in the United States, Canada, and Europe and is the author of more than ninety books, newsletters, scholarly articles, and family histories.

Arlene was one of the original editors of The Source: A Guidebook to American Genealogy and co-authored the "Court Records" chapter of the most recent edition.
