Alcona is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1840 (1869) (as Negwegon; renamed 1843) from the following county/ies: *Mackinac/ *Alpena/ *Cheboygan/ *Iosco. Alcona began keeping birth records in 1869, marriage records in 1869, and death records in 1869. It began keeping land records in 1869, probate records in 1869, and court records in 1872.
