Aitkin is a county in Minnesota. It was formed in 1857 (1885) from the following county/ies: Pine/Ramsey 1887/*Crow Wing/*Morrison. Aitkin began keeping birth records in 1874, marriage records in 1885, and death records in 1885. It began keeping land records in 1872, probate records in 1890, and court records in 1862. For more information, contact the county at 209 2nd St. NW, Aitkin 56431. On the attached map, Aitkin is located at D4. Aitkin County was spelled Aiken until 1872.
