About this project
This is a collection of 3 state censuses for Erie County, New York. Records include census records for 1855, 1865, and 1875. In addition to population schedules, other tables such as agricultural, statistical, military, marriages, and deaths are also included.

Other census pages that include a header, such as "Agricultural Statistics" and "Miscellaneous Statistics", fall into this category. Key the town from the header of these pages. Individual personal records will not be keyed. Do not use this form type for images that are blank (image with no data), duplicate, or census pages that do not include a header and other non-census images that would otherwise fall into the "Cover page, Section header, etc." category.

Death forms can be identified by the word "death" at the top of the page. Often they will say "VII. Deaths of Officers and Enlisted Men" near the top. Some death forms have the data split between the top and the bottom of the page. Use the line numbers to determine how the data is related between the two tables. Key the name, age, death date, and place from deaths pages.

Marriage and Death forms have a small list of names of couples who have married in the last year, and a small list of names of people who have died. Sometimes this information is found on the same image as the population census. In this case, key all information available from the census, marriage, and death sections.
