Project Instructions

This collection contains a typed index that was created as a substitute for the 1800 Census of Kentucky. It includes the person's name, county of residence, and the year of the tax record.

All data will be keyed on this form. For each individual shown, key the name, residence county, and residence year. Note that there are two columns of names on each page. Key the entire column on the left first, then key the column on the right.

Where a surname is listed, then followed by a redirection (Ex. "Aban. See Alben."), do not key this line.

You may encounter multiple individuals listed with the same name--key each of these individuals as a new record.
