Select this form type for any image with a list of names on it.

Military Day

Key the date of the militia list. This date is not found on all of the images, but when it appears it is usually found in the header of the image. The date is usually written in the day-month-year format. Key the day as seen.

Key the date of the militia list. This date is not found on all of the images, but when it appears it is usually found in the header of the image. The date is usually written in the day-month-year format. Key the name of the month in full, even if abbreviated or written numerically on the image.

Military Year

Key the date of the militia list. This date is not found on all of the images, but when it appears it is usually found in the header of the image. The date is usually written in the day-month-year format. Key the year as seen, whether two or four digits. The expected year range is mid-1700s to mid-1800s.

Division

Key the division. The division is not always found on the image, but when it does appear it is usually in the header. It will be followed by the word 'Division', 'Subdivision', or 'District.' Key only the name of the Division; do not include the word 'Division.' It is very likely that there will be images with multiple divisions on them. If there are multiple divisions on an image, create a new section for each division.

Prefix

Key any titles before the given name, such as "Dr", "Rev", "Mr" or "Mrs".  Use the dictionary provided for assistance. If a prefix does not appear in the dictionary, key as seen.

Given

Key the given name of each person found on the militia list. The given name is found in the column labeled 'Name' or sometimes 'Person Chosen'.  Key the first name or initial and any middle names using the dictionary provided for assistance. If a given name does not appear in the dictionary, key as seen.

Surname

Key the surname of each person found on the militia list. The name is found in the column labeled 'Name' or sometimes 'Person Chosen'. Use the dictionary provided for assistance. If the surname does not appear in the dictionary, key as seen.

Suffix

Key all titles, such as "Jr" or "III", following the surname using the dictionary provided for assistance. If a suffix does not appear in thje dictionary, key as seen.

Age

When present, key the age of the individual. The age will be listed in a column labeled 'Age'.

Residence City

When listed, key the person's place of residence. The residence can be found in the column labeled 'Residence' or 'Place of Abode.' It is also sometimes found in the header of the image, following the words "dwelling within the Parish, Tithing, or Place of..."  Key the residence using the dictionary provided for assistance. If a residence does not appear in the dictionary, key as seen. It is expected that most residences will consist of just a town or city name. However, if mutliple locations or jurisidictions are listed, key as seen separating each location with a comma.
