Stark is a county in Illinois. It was formed in 1839 from the following counties: Knox/Putnam. Stark began keeping birth records in 1877, marriage records in 1839, and death records in 1877. It began keeping land records in 1817, probate records in 1839, and court records in 1839. For more information, contact the county at 130 W. Main/Box 97, Toulon 61483. History of Stark County

Stark County was named after General Colonel John Stark who served in the American Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
