Sierra is a county in California. It was formed in 1852 from the following county/ies: Yuba . Sierra began keeping birth records in 1857 , marriage records in 1853, and death records in 1873. It began keeping land records in 1852, probate records in 1852, and court records in 1852. For more information, contact the county at P.O. Box D, Downieville 95936. On the attached map, Sierra is located at C3 . Land was added from counties Yuba (1866) and Plumas (1863 and 1866).
